Damita- No Looking Back
By Monica P. Watkins for GospelMusicChannel.com
On July 22, Damita Haddon makes a long-awaited return with her sophomore release No Looking Back. After seven long years since her debut on Atlantic records, No Looking Back reveals a confident songstress whose musical skills are sharper than ever.
Clearly Damita has taken the “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it” adage to heart, wasting no time re-introducing her fans to her refreshing signature style as soon as they press play. Imagine Damita as an angelic mouthpiece for God relaying His very personal message of love and protection to the world on songs like “Plain and Simple.” She spices things up with a little island flavor, not to mention a great horn section, with “Best Thing,” and later gives the listener a taste of the Orient with “Don’t Leave Me Lonely.”

I respect a person giving powerful praise in the form of music like she do, because I do the same thing. I just never got the chance to really show my God given talent in that way, but God is good. If it is meant, it will happen. What ever she does falling off is not a option when you serve God in the vocal form. I know that myself. She is one who got there. God Bless Her Truthfully.
I was watching Video Gospel and saw for the first time Damita Haddon Video (No Looking Back). It sadden my heart to see how Damita allowed herself to be presented in the video. There was many shots of her body parts that made you think she was trying to sell herself and not the message in the video. I would not state the body part, but once you see for yourself, you can see what I am talking about. I am sorry, this is not GOSPEL, its of the would. One should not get this low to win the world for Jesus. I also see a clip on this site of her husband Deitrick stated we must reach the world at any means, at any cost. This is not God. Where have we went wrong in gospel music. Please turn back home to GOD and let the world go. Lift up Jesus, and the world will come. What say you?
I agree with wayne, I felt the same way regarding Damita Haddon’s new cd ( no looking back) we don’t have to compromise ourselves for the sake of selling video or cds. The world is looking for a change, if they can’t see the difference in us as christians, they won’t be compelled to come to Jesus Christ. I am saying this from personal experience where a co-worker had my life under a microscope because she wanted to see that I was different from her now she has accepted Christ. She shared that with me afterwards, I told her christians aren’t perfect, just forgiven. Praise God! Souls are at stake. It is all about Him, and not about US. He is the only star. I am not condeming Damita I am saying this to share.
I love damita haddon but i have to agree we should show christ whether it be video or song or on the job. only jesus is the righteous judge but he says in his word we know the tree by the fruit it bears. an apple tree will not bear an orange neither will an orange tree bear an apple so we as christians should not have our chest hanging out like we selling something or our clothes so tight nothing is left for the imagination. unless lust is in you because whats in a man will come out.
I agree with with the posts regarding Damita Haddon, I also have to state that i understand we want to reach young people but come on…club remixes? Has anyone seen the commercial with Deitrick Haddon promoting his new CD… he is all hyped up and then he says “wait till you hear the club remix”. What ? I don’t even like it when they play gospel an urban stations..”Never Would Have Made It”,
” Yesterday”, “I Need You Now”, then they turn around and play Gimme some Lovin, Freak me baby and so on.
Your album is good i appreciate it, particularly the song plain and simple. When i listen to it i sometime i cry because i understand the love the Father had bestowed in us.
i luv u
