Canton Jones Receive Dove Nomination

Arrow Records has a lot to be excited about. The Gospel Music Association (GMA) announced the nominees for the 40th Annual GMA Dove Award (www.doveawards.com) and one of the breakthrough nominations was for Arrow Records recording artist Canton Jones.

Jones received a nomination for Urban Album of the Year for his critically acclaimed album, Kingdom Business.

For the past 10 years, Jones has been unmistakably known for his unique Hip-Hop Gospel sound. A Grammy Award nominated singer, songwriter and producer, Jones is recognized as a trendsetter for the movement of a generation of “believers,” believers who are relentless in their pursuit to bridge the gap between the church and the streets.

More than an artist, Canton represents a philosophy, a movement and a culture.

“I understand that it is not just about the music, but it’s about developing a lifestyle that offers peace and prosperity for anyone bold enough to pursue their purpose” says Jones. “Kingdom Business is just that, a business plan for God’s people.”

The nominated Kingdom Business is a mix of street anthems and melodic story lines and the Dove Awards, Christian music’s biggest night of the year, will be instrumental in making sure Jones’ music reaches the masses. At the Dove Awards, artists from every style of Gospel music come together for a night of music and celebration where the GMA will bestow one of its highest musical honors.

On April 23, 2009, the 40th Annual Dove Awards will be held at Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry House and will be broadcast nationwide, live on the Gospel Music Channel from 8 – 10 p.m. (ET/PT).
