Hezekiah Walker & LFC’s “Souled Out” Takes The #1 R&R Gospel Chart Position

Hezekiah Walker’s rousing single “Souled Out” has landed in the #1 position on the R&R Gospel Chart, marking the artist’s first #1 single in Nielsen BDS history.

The high-powered title track from Hezekiah Walker & LFC’s latest CD SOULED OUT, “Souled Out” is an up-and-up hand-clapper in the vein of recent Walker barnburners such as “Hold Out” and “It’s More Than That.” “We say ‘sold out,’ but it’s coming from the soul,” Walker adds. “That’s where the music comes from. That’s where the lyrics come from. We belong to God completely—mind, body, and soul.”

Jeff Grant, Vice President of Promotions at Verity Gospel Music Group, says: “This song is in the mold of the classic Hezekiah Walker sound that we have grown to know and love. This is a long awaited #1 on an artist that has been a staple for many years, and it is a very deserving #1.” The new #1 position for Hezekiah Walker & LFC also brings to an end the 29 week reign of James Fortune’s “I Trust You.”

In his formidable career, Walker has had numerous top-5 singles including “Lift Him Up,” which peaked at #3 in 2006; and “Faithful Is Our God,” which held the # 2 position in 2007.

“Souled Out” also received a 2009 GMA Dove Award nomination for Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year.
