Over the last 22 years Chicago Mass Choir has served up many chart topping church choir songs, such as “Holy Ghost Power”, “I Can Go to The Rock”, “Nobody Like Jesus”, “He that Believeth”, “Jesus Promised” and their current single “Mighty Good God”.

Praise teams have been on the rise, but choirs are still going strong within music departments of the church. When choirs want to “Just have church”, they have been known to send up praises with a Chicago Mass Choir song.

On Friday, September 28th, choirs and fans will gather for Chicago Mass Choir’s “Just having Church” Fall Musical Service.

The musical service will begin at 7pm and held at The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Chapel/Theatre Area, 1250 W. 119th Street, Chicago, IL. The Just Having Church musical will not only feature Chicago Mass Choir, but also the groups Tony Tidwell and Uncommon Favor, Adrian B. King and Company and Johnell Nicholas & In Spirit Ministries.

It’s only appropriate that Lecrae releases Gravity, an album with seemingly several meanings (but only one, in hindsight… the weight, or seriousness, of life). Having sang all her life, Lexi also had a passion for the stage that began to blossom during her undergraduate studies at Bowling Green State University, majoring in Interpersonal Communications and having a minor in Theatre. Later, she was able to use her degree as a teacher at Northland High School in Columbus, Ohio.

Lexi’s heart for singing led her to land a small stint as a background vocalist for the Gerald LeVert, Fred Hammond, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong, before realizing her own destiny, in which she would have a musical ministry of her own.

Lexi met and married Michael Allen, a music producer, who helped develop her writing and vocal ability to create her own musical sound. Michael Allen, helped Lexi release three national recording projects to date. Lexi and her husband were the first gospel music act to sign to boxing champion Evander Holyfield’s record label. While on Evander’s label the two created a unique sound on the 2004 critically acclaimed project, “A Praise in the Valley”. That album landed Lexi a Stellar Gospel Music Award nomination. Lexi’s latest album “What Heaven Hears” was released soon thereafter in 2005.

However, that marriage and musical magic soon ended with Michael’s untimely death. Having their son, Lexi was, without her husband, without focus, and without direction, but she wasn’t without God.

In early 2006 an opportunity presented itself in which Lexi became the “face” of the network The Word Network. Lexi was thrust before forty million households in the United States, seen by forty million viewers in over 200 countries around the world as well, and Lexi began to blossom into a name that would be easily recognized. The birth of the “The Lexi Show”, a one on one style talk show, became Lexi’s new endeavor. The Lexi Show proved to be a groundbreaking success for the network. Some of Black Hollywoods elite and gospel music A-List have shared intimate conversation with Lexi on screen.

Currently Lexi, can be seen co-hosting on the Bobby Jones show on BET and she can be heard reporting the latest news on the Radio One syndicated program “The Yolanda Adams Morning Radio Show” every week. Lexi is also featured on the BET show, “Lift Every Voice”, every week a correspondent.

Terry Washington is an R&B/Jazz singer/songwriter, composer and music producer. Terry recently released his debut CD entitled “The Essence of Love.” But make no mistake about it; he is a seasoned performer whose music takes you on a soulful musical journey to love. You could say his music is rhythm and blues colored with a tint of Jazz. The songs on his CD puts you into those romantic moods you’ve experienced when listening to such greats as Luther Vandross, Will Downing, Jeffrey Osborne, and Maxwell. As he effortlessly goes from baritone to tenor and falsetto he delivers a smooth singing style with a voice that is texturally rich, soothing, and memorable. You may even shed a tear or a few when listening to a couple of the more lyrically emotional songs he has written. In fact, the lyrics contained in his music are simply breath-taking. The compositions are impressive and mature, with rhythms and melodies that move you, make you take a look inside, relax, love and want to be loved.
